Artist's Description

In May 2007 this Mississippi Kite "visited" Palos Verdes, California's South Coast Botanic Garden for 9 days; it was only the 6th time that a Mississippi Kite had been seen in Los Angeles County. And its markings make it a "first summer" Mississippian, making it an even rarer sighting. The photo was taken with the Panasonic DMC-FZ20 ultrazoom digital camera, and the camera exif is ISO 80, f/4.6 @ 1300 sec.
